CJPIP is working with members of congregations in the Oak Park and River Forest to build a faith-based consortium to advocate for Israel/Palestine issues. We have initiated this work within the context of national faith leaders have who have taken strong stands – some demanding an end to unconditional military aid to Israel — and others, supporting the boycott, divestment, and sanctions (BDS) movement – through efforts such as the “Occupation Free Faith Communities Network.”
We are developing awareness of these denominational discussions at the local level and are working with individuals in our communities to develop curricula and programs to disseminate to their congregations.
Our hope is our work will become a pilot project that allows others to build on the materials that we are developing and the lessons we are learning in this critical work.
